Meet MAC ELLIS …..Born to be Play in the Dirt It’s no surprise at all the Mac Ellis is still playing in the dirt all these years later after being born in Lake City, Florida to a mother who loved motor sports also and was a dirt track racer. He spent his weekends at the local dirt tracks with his mother and her racecar. That is where he caught the motorsports bug. He did his fair share of auto racing through the years and eight years ago moved in next door to Bryan Clermont.
Bryan and Mac ran demolition derby together for a few years and one day he asked if Mac wanted to go to a garden tractor pull test and tune (he was transporting their sled for them). Mac agreed and immediately fell in love with what he saw. The family involvement was finally something he could compete in with his kids. The rest he guesses as they say is history.
Mac is a service manager for a mobile home dealership and he has been in construction most of his life. Mac loves building and fabricating and that made it a perfect match for building pullers. Three years ago Mac didn’t know what a garden tractor was and now he owns approximately10. He am very anxious to see where this leads him in the years to come.
Just three years into his pulling career, Ellis is already a force to be reckoned with the Colorado Garden Tractor Pullers Association/KC Garden Tractor Pullers and Eastern Colorado Garden Tractor Pullers
Special Thanks to: Mac would like to thank his supportive mother who taught him true love of motorsports, his kids Katie and Cameron Ellis, Ralph Lauffer who put Mac on a tractor for his first pull,Kurt Tucker, Levi johnson, and all of the wonderful pullers he has pulled with.
